Questions for group work

Description

The students will be divided into groups and work with the following questions:

  1. Some authors believe that the new media (the developing informational self-service of the population) represent the beginning of the end of journalism. Do you think this will lead to a  process of coexisting different “journalisms” (civil, freelancing, editorial) or the death of journalism in general?

  2. Marshall McLuhan argued in his works that the creation of the “The Gutenberg Galaxy” and the printing press paved the way for the eighteenth century revolutions and the birth of European democracy. What, in your opinion, will be the social consequences of the development of “new media”?
